MALCOLM CARR
Senior Advisor
Malcolm Carr is a principal consultant with over 30 years’ experience in the Subsea Oil and Gas Industry. Malcolm graduated with a first class honours degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College London.
Malcolm was a Director of Crondall Energy 2011 to 2021. He then became a Senior Advisor. Prior to this Malcolm was a founder and Technical Director of Boreas Consultants Limited. Malcolm was responsible for the technical leadership of the SAFEBUCK JIP, which has improved the understanding of pipeline lateral buckling and produced a comprehensive design guideline used extensively by the Industry.
Since joining Crondall Energy he has undertaken a number of consulting assignments for clients in UK, Australasia, Brazil and West Africa. Malcolm’s areas of expertise include HP/HT pipeline strain-based design, upheaval and lateral buckling assessment, and general finite element analysis. He has authored 29 papers at major conferences and in peer-reviewed journals. Malcolm has previously been a visiting lecturer at Newcastle University, where he presented the Deep-water Pipeline Design module on the Subsea MSc course.
