Crondall Energy's subsidiary Buoyant Production Technologies Ltd. has developed a spar-buoy floating facility design specifically to support substation equipment.  The floating substation  transforms voltage from high to low, or the reverse, enabling the long distance transmission of power from a floating wind farm to the onshore grid, or providing the interface from a power import line to electrify offshore facilities.
